18th Century German, French or Dutch Horseman's BroadSword, #3108 Edged Weapons
A good Antique German or French or Dutch Horseman's Broadsword, circa. 1750-1760. 28.5" curved single edge blade w/upper edge fuller (blade's edge shows evidence of contact with other blades). The most distinguishing features of this type of sword is the brass stirrup-shaped knuckle bow, single side branch leading to a high outboard shell guard and included a thumb ring. Original wood grip missing the wrap. A very interesting sword. Missing scabbard. 33.75" overall length. Type used in the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War.
