An Antique Spanish Military Percussion Pistol dated "1848".  The 6” .69 caliber smooth-bore barrel is dated “1848” and numbered “138” on the left side of the breech.  The pistol is set up with a steel captive swivel ram rod.  The lock has a rather ingenious addition in its construction with the cap protector that is moved forward when ready to fire.  The lock is dated “1848” and numbered “138” on the tail of the lock plate.  An unidentified inspector’s mark, a “CROWN” and another unidentified stamp “LAGA TI” is stamped in front of the percussion hammer.  All brass furniture of the pattern each with inspectors marks.  The stock is solid with checkering along the upper portion of the grip area with light scratches and dings from years of service.  12.25” overall length.  All steel surfaces are in the bright with a few small areas of light pitting around the percussion bolster.  A better than average example in good mechanical working order.
