A wonderful antique large antique 18th century Dutch porcelain & pewter Tavern Stein dated; "1782". The Tavern Stein has a pewter rim bottom and the top is engraved; "A R S" and the date; "1782", scratched above is the name; "C.J. Taylor, 1870". The handle has been broken off and repaired during the period of use. Minor chips and hair-lines in the glaze. Beautiful colors. The bottom has an unidentified maker's mark, "C.J.TAYLOR", and a collection tag marked; "Collection C J Taylor, 1890, Monrose Park, S. Orange, N.J.". A fine example.
